As I mentioned last month, June 5 will mark the 15th anniversary of the founding of StudioSIX5. So much has happened in those 15 years. We’ve undertaken 400 projects in 32 states and Canada, for numerous clients, most of whom are repeat clients. We’ve done communities at all care levels, both public and private. We’ve done mostly new construction, but we’ve also done our share of repositioning (renovation) projects, as well as some adaptive reuse ones.
Over these years, we’ve grown from a staff of four to 70. Through it all, we have maintained our central focus, our mission: To improve the Lives of Seniors. This fundamental principle drives everything we do.
To celebrate our anniversary, we’re having a shindig for our staff, our clients, our vendors and friends of the firm, at the South Congress Hotel here in Austin. We’ve also made an anniversary donation to Family Eldercare. This summer we’ll participate in a donation drive for the Meals on Wheels PALS (Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors) program, which provides assistance with food, supplies and veterinary care for elderly homebound seniors. Helping seniors retain their beloved pets who provide them with unconditional love is a cause close to our hearts. We want to do more than throw a party—we want to show our appreciation to for seniors in our local community.
We’ve enjoyed success over these last 15 years by doing good work and taking good care of our clients. But we haven’t done it alone—our clients, staff, consultants and vendors have taken good care of us, as well. We intend to build on these relationships, and forge new ones, in the years to come. We know there will always be a market for thoughtful, innovative and beautiful senior living design, which is just the sort of design we provide. We look forward to the next 15 years, and decades more.
