The Kirwan Blanding Residence Hall at the University of Kentucky is defined by natural forms and a color palette of blues, browns, and greens combined with authentic materials to promote a design for mental and physical student wellbeing. Each Individual level has a designated theme or purpose that ties back to the core aims of the University with a focus on technology. The hall is in the heart of campus overlooking the South lawn, a big space for students to play games, have meetings, or just hang out to relax or study. 644 beds in 313 rooms in a four-story residence hall with 223,634 gross square feet with an estimated 19,584 square feet of various social spaces, smaller study and mixed-use rooms, kitchens, and laundry.
